Unfortunately, I have not had too much experience in the classroom yet so am still working on forming my teaching philosophy. From the knowledge I have gained so far, I recognize the importance of forming strong teacher-student relationships and putting a focus on socio-emotional learning. I want to create a welcoming environment where students feel safe to express themselves and take risks. I believe in constructivist theory and the idea that collaborative work is very beneficial for students. I plan on providing a variety of instructional methods and activities, including lots of experiential learning. My goal is to intrinsically motivate my students and provide them autonomy in their learning. As I gain more experience and knowledge I plan to adjust my teaching philosophy in order to have a clear goal of what I want to achieve.
