This week, my roommate and I decided to make egg and chicken fried rice. We started by cooking the rice with help from the directions given on the bag. While that was cooking, we started cooking the chicken. We chopped up the raw chicken and put it on a hot skillet with oil. We seasoned the chicken with salt and pepper and cooked until it was done. Once the chicken was cooked all the way through, we moved the chicken to one side of the pan and  poured in our eggs. The eggs heat up quickly, so we ensured to scramble them as soon as they hit the pan. Once the egg was cooked in, we added in some frozen vegetables. We cooked the vegetables until they were done and then waited for our rice. To put it all together, we first put rice in the bowl and then the chicken-egg-vegetable mixture on top. We chose to top it off with soy sauce, but I think that a variety of sauces could be used for this.

Overall, I would rate this dish a 7/10. It is a great meal to get all your food groups in, as the chicken and egg are both great sources of protein. There are quite a few steps to making this and it does take a bit of time because the rice takes around 30 minutes to cook. I would recommend this dish to college students, but I would not advise making it very often. Chicken can be expensive, so it may not be the most practical. However, I think this dish could be adapted however people would like. They are able to customize it by choosing what vegetables to add and what sauce they would like. I think it is a tasty dish that people would enjoy.
