This week, my friend and I decided to make breakfast wraps! I’ve realized how much I enjoy cooking with friends and how much stress it takes off my shoulders. We were at my friend’s house and wanted to make a nice brunch, but didn’t have too many ingredients available to us. We decided to make breakfast wraps because they are very adaptable and very tasty! For ours, we included the following ingredients:
-eggs
-tortillas
-cheese (grated)
-onion
-spinach
-salsa
We prepared all the ingredients, cutting up the vegetables and grating the cheese. We started by sautéing the onions in a saucepan with some oil. Once those browned, we added in the spinach. We then reduced the heat and added in the egg, which we mixed with some salt and pepper. While the egg cooked, we heated up the tortillas in the microwave. Once the egg was cooked, we scooped the mixture onto the tortillas and topped it with grated cheese and salsa. My friend loves spicy food so she added some sriracha to hers as well. We then folded our wraps and enjoyed!
I love breakfast foods and I love breakfast wraps. I would rate breakfast wraps a 10/10. They are so adaptable and you can really add whatever you have handy. My ideal breakfast wrap would probably include hash browns and turkey bacon, but even without those ingredients, I was able to make an enjoyable breakfast wrap. Some other toppings that could be included are mushrooms, peppers, bacon, ham, etc. (basically anything you would put in an omelette!) The only necessities are eggs and wraps, which I feel many college students would have in their kitchens. It does not take very long to make but is still something to be proud of. Although my friend and I ate these for breakfast, I think you could eat this at any time of day. I would highly recommend these wraps for anyone who loves breakfast food and eggs!
